Lots of very interesting games this week. Looking forward to seeing which teams step up and make some kind of statement about where they belong. Most of the teams seem to be very unpredictable week to week.

It is going to be interesting even to see who the oddsmakers favor in our game, Miami @ EMU NIU @ BG. I have to think as bad as Ball State looks they'll be favored on the road against Kent State.

There aren't a lot of odd circumstances in our game. But I'd expect it to be very near zero.

How much credit does Miami get at this point for being better on paper?

How much weight is a win over Notre Dame worth when it looks like an outlier although they have still played OK outside of that?

Buffalo is going to be an underdog but boy would a win over Toledo make a statement. That would especially be true in NIU were to win at BG.

Interestingly, all visiting teams except Akron are favored. I bet that at least one home team other than WMU wins, but I hope it's not CMU.

I just saw BG favored by 2 and CMU by 1. So there’s definitely some different opinions in Vegas on some of these games

I pulled them off of FanDuel. They are on ESPN now. It is still Ohio by 2.5 but BG is favored.

OU has lost 10 of the last 14 to CMU.

6 of the last 7 in total.

They won 75% of their games vs us at home.

I’m never looking forward to playing them - especially in Michigan.

It’s a big game. 4-2 feels a hell of a lot better than 3-3.

Ohio's record against CMU since they moved to D1 is 5–27–2. No matter how you query that you are probably going to get back a lopsided record in CMU's favor.

The only good one might be that Ohio is 1-0 in their last one games against CMU. :)

Can we believe that we are 2.5pt. favorites?

Dan Lefever really made life miserable lol

100% win percentage since 2023. I like that.

Labas can sling it, though at FIU he showed he can rush it and be turnover prone, so maybe they think we're about to give him fits, but I'm pretty surprised - especially at their place.

He had a decent game vs SDSU: 24/43, 275 yds, one TD and one INT. Their punter also completed a pass for 28 yds on a fake.

Not only do they have a big edge over us in the all-time series, but it's also their homecoming and they're 60-34-1 all-time in their homecoming games.

Line has moved to -3

Always give 3 to the home team... Vegas thinks we're gonna win a by a TD.

Interesting.

Side note, The Temptations are playing at halftime at Eastern Michigan.

Home field is a little less than 3 in college these days. Maybe 2.5. It's more like closer to 1.5 now in the NFL.

But, yes, we'd be favored by 5.5 or so on a neutral field. It's maybe just barely higher than I'd have though but sounds reasonable.

The visiting team is 4-3 so far in MAC games.

6 regionally coherent matchups all with up in the air outcomes. This is what conference football is supposed to look like.

We'll see if the hold on but Buffalo in MAC play is looking pretty tough. Though they win in Athens less often than we win in Mount Pleasant.

Buffs win!

In other sports news, Pitt is playing Cal today. Will scan Twitter after the game to see if there are in Harris/Thompson photos that pop up.

If Akron wins having two 2-0 teams and only one winless team is parity that is somehow well beyond what the parity in what standings would look like if every game were exactly a 50/50 coin flip.
