Let me start by saying that I have no sympathy for criminals and I agree with those who think Dan Enos and CMU have been irresponsible in only giving a 2 game suspension to Thomas Rawls.

With that being said, it is absolute BS for a WMU fan to come onto our board and start a thread accusing a player of being convicted of a felony when that is 100% a lie.

Thomas Rawls plead guilty to attempted larceny from a building, a misdemeanor. As part of the plea bargain all felony charges were dropped. Rawls was NOT convicted of a felony. What Rawls and his friends did was wrong, but let's put it into the proper context. According to reports Rawls and his friends found a purse sitting unattended in a chair in a casino at 3am. They took it and used the credit cards to buy some sandwiches and put some gas in their car. They did not beat up the 62 year old woman that owned the purse and they did not rob her at gun point. They took advantage of her carelessness/absentmindedness. Word of advice- if you don't want your purse stolen, don't leave it lying around in a casino at 3 in the morning.

Something similar happened to me just a couple of weeks ago, I stopped at a drive thru after work and paid with my debit card. Either I dropped the card when it was handed back to me or it wasn't handed back at all and I didn't realize it but either way I didn't notice it was missing until later that night. The next day I searched my car and couldn't find it so I called the restaurant to see if they had it and they did not. I then checked my bank statement online and saw where my card had been used to by $6 of food at Wendy's and $25 in gas. I called the bank, they cancelled the card and immediately and refunded the money. Yeah I'm mad that someone took my card but I should have been less careless, and nobody got hurt. To think somebody would become a felon and serve hard time for that is crazy.

These young men should be punished by the judicial system, and they will be. But throwing them in prison and turning them into convicted felons is not the answer. I could go on about our for-profit prison culture but I won't. Bottom line, Rawls messed up and the judicial system will appropriately punish him for his actions, its a shame CMU won't do the same.

My feeling is that he should be out from the guilty plea through sentencing and until he has completed whatever he owes the people. If he deceived the coaches by withholding information about the proceedings I do not know how they can continue to work together. If this would mean his choices cost him the rest of his college football career, he should have known better.

I agree with the first part, but I don't see the WMU fan as an "issue." He started a thread that has sparked a nice discussion. Isn't that a good thing? In fact, I always enjoy the non-troll visits from other fan bases.

In a way, Windham's punishment is still continuing. If he hadn't been arrested and dismissed from the team, he's probably preparing for his second start. Instead, he has to watch from the sidelines (barring injury or blow-out).
