I look at JD, and I see a mirror of TT, minus 15 lbs and with the FIPB guts. Discuss.

Agree. I like his composure. Nothing seems to rattle him. Sad to see Vick go down; looks like it's a knee, so he may be out for a while. But we don't lose much with Sprague. Keep him healthy.

Let's be honest with this season...both Vick and Sprague will be backing up Joey Duckworth next year while Daz will be our fourth back after Ouelette, Irons and Trae Williams. This is a patchwork season where we just have to hope for 5-7 or god willing 6-6. Next year we will be much better offensively. JD has done an admirable job, he's just not being given enough to work with by Albin.

where are you seeing anything that says Duckworth is that good? As well as Irons or Williams??

I think that if Joey fully recovers he will be better then the 3 current QB's. We was a 3 star recruit and was passed over due to his limited PT and 1 or 2 surgeries.I believe red shirting him this year was a wise choice. We will then have him as a 4 year eligible QB. He has the best size and the best history from High School that we have seen recently. I think he will be better than TT was in his Soph season, not to mention all the growing up our current young players will experience this year.
I also want to remind all that Frank did mention that both the 2012 & 2013 recruiting classes were his best. If next years class is equal to the past 2 the future is bright.
Let's hang in there.

I never said I had any evidence that Irons, Williams or Duckworth were that good...I just have grown to find after six games that Vick, Sprague and Daz are not that good...and I believe the previously mentioned redshirts and future freshman will be a spark.

Its so sad to read these comments. You can rock yourselves to sleep at night thinking about Joey Duckworth, Irons and Williams...but we've seen NONE of them play a snap. Perhaps that is why they seem so fantastic?

Oh, and btw, Windham was highly recruited (relatively speaking).

Oh, and double btw, Sprague is awful awful awful. He does not belong in FBS football. If you think he is even remotely acceptable, I suggest you spend some time watching other college football games to get an idea of what a real FBS quarterback looks like.

I liked what I saw from Vick this season, for the most part. Hopefully he can come back and start some games this season and be a quality Senior QB next season.

+1 These guys are giving solid effort, cannot throw them out after one or two tough games. They just need to keep working and get better, they will

I'd prefer to make Austen Everson comparisons.

And yes.

Why is it that basically every other MAC team can recruit a 6'2"-6'4" QB with a strong arm and we always have a 5'10"-6'0" guys that can run but have weak arms. How many times have we lost games to big QB's that just shred our D but we can't recruit one. Duckworth is our only hope. There have been a lot of MAC QB's that have at least made practice squads or active squads in the NFL and we get walk on starting QB's at 5'11. Until we can get a strong armed QB with good size we will continue to basically suck.

BINGO!

I've thought about this for years now, and the reason is that they (the staff) can't convince such a player to come to Athens because the offense is such a mess. Its not unlike the situation with Roger Lewis. Why would he come to Athens and join our dreadful offense? BG can move the ball and they have a history of exciting football. To some it up: WE ARE BORING.

When looking for a theory which knits together the facts, that makes sense.
