[QUOTE=L.C.] No sarcasm at all - in basketball we've won three championships in the last 10 years and in volleyball, well, we're running out of banner space.
When was the last regular season championship, Alan?

Hint: our kids were still in the Athens City school system.

Our MAC wins for 2013 and 2014 were over teams with a combined 8-46 record.

Kent 0-6
UMass 1-11
Miami 0-12
EMU 2-10
Akron 5-7

Any good built up in the 8 prior years quickly dissipated in year 9 and 10. We are as non competitive as a team can possibly be in the MAC.

People are giving Akron way to much respect. We can beat them. Let's not forget last's years game. Yes these are new teams but come on. People need to stop acting like Akron is going to kill us. Even with their QB we have a change. W/O we're favorites. As for the rest Miami is a W. Buffalo will be close. If we can just pull off an upset with NIU or WMU we're bowling. It's not that far out of reach.
So this is what it has come down to, satisfaction with a "bowl" game? Whatever happened to the quest for a league championship?
When did I ever say I was satisfied with a bowl game in this post? All I said was I think we can beat Akron with or W/O their QB and that a bowl game is possible. But since you brought it up. Yes I would be very satisfied with a bowl game. Given our history bowl games are very rare. This is a golden age of OU football. We need to enjoy every bowl game we get in because for all we know it may be another 38 years before we make or win another one.

I waited until after the Akron game to put my vote in and I think we may have just beat the East Champs today. I say yes at 6-6 with Miami (1-6) on the road and Buffalo (3-4) at home midweek. WMU and NIU at home are also both winnable games.
