Walk-ons/recruiting. Best coaches in the world can't win when they're outclassed at every position.
not outclassed . . . but under trained because of youth.
I'm not sure I understand why some on here confuse "talent" and "experience." This type of situation has played out over the years at many other schools where a program has a down year (a rebuilding year) because it's better players are underclassmen and then in a year or two that program explodes into a top 25 one. I think that many OHIO fans have no experience with this typical ebb and flow and take any downturn as evidence that the sky is falling and that Frank Solich has suddenly become a clone of Brian Knorr or Cleve Bryant. Or, alternately they spin ageist theories that he's so old that the game has past him by. Give me a break . . . with all due respect to Monroe . . . the sky is not falling, whether we win or lose next Saturday.
