they are 3-4 with CMU, Ohio, Akron, Kent St and UMass left to play. Finishing 6-6 is not unreasonable.
But two of their wins were vs 1AA schools, so at 6-6 that would only be 4-6 vs 1A. They would have to win four out of five to be bowl eligible. He was 20-36 since taking over but only 14-36 vs 1A teams. And that's playing the likes of Fiami and UMass every year. His one really successful year -- last year -- could be attributed to one player, who has gone on to the NFL. Still, firing him now doesn't make much sense. They're not going to win the East, and even getting to a bowl is a long shot.
True, 2 games this year were vs FCS but you can't hold the other FCS games against him when everybody does it. And there's weak teams in the MAC, we all get that, not just him. I'm not saying he should keep his job, I'm just saying I don't think this move makes much since right now.
BTW, fun fact, of Quinn's 20 wins only 2 were against teams with a .500 record or better, can you name them both?
