I guess I should consider myself lucky that I have never been exposed to Buckeye days in my life. Growing up (and still living) in Cincinnati, we would have Reds or Bengals days but it has never been limited to a single college.

OSU fandom is a little more pulled back here with UC, Xavier (not for football obviously), Kentucky, etc. each also having a sizable following amongst the local population.
Cincinnati is in its own college centered universe, which is quite awesome. Within a 10 min-4 hour drive you can get to the following: Xavier, UC, Tennessee, Marshall, UK, Indiana, Bowling Green, Toledo, Ohio, Ohio State, Miami, Akron, Kent, Ball State, Louisville, and Butler. Go a little further and you can get to Vandy, Michigan, Pitt and even WVU.
Semi-related: I always think it is cool that I live less than a mile from Temple and on my way to work I pass Drexel, UPenn, St. Joe's, and Villanova. And that doesn't include all the smaller private colleges like Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Cabrini, etc. all between my work and my home. Philadelphia is essentially the largest college town in the country. Crazy.

When people ask me if I'd move back to Ohio, I reference the kind of nonsense reported in this thread.
You're in good company. Kirk Herbstreit, former Buckeye no less, was compelled to move out of the shadow of the Horseshoe by these same idiots. Presumably, he feared the environment surrounding his school age children as well as himself.
Or so Herbstreit would have the public believe....

Sometimes your wife doesn't like the company you've been keeping in your neighborhood.

If you are a Bengals fan, another new reason would be Mike Nugent after yesterday!
