I'm one of those who hopes for more natural audio during ESPN3 football telecasts, but during this Akron game I think they have one mic aimed right at the cheerleaders. Gets really old and I swear sometimes in the audio mix they're louder than the guys in the booth.

To be fair, the cheer leaders probably had a better idea what was going on that those two. Wrong downs wrong yardage crediting the wrong team with time outs... Maybe it was just me but I thought they were terrible.

There wasn't an ounce of natural sound today at the stadium until, maybe the game clinching interception. Then the old folks side actually got off their asses for five seconds.

It also caught a fan plain as day in the 4th quarter. "How can that be illegal man downfield when didn't go more than three f-ing yards off the line of scrimmage." Or something like that, with an f-bomb.

You must be deaf. There was all kinds of cheering, booing and third down noise making on the old fart side. Not as much as last week, maybe -- in part because of the smaller crowd and in part because of the colder weather, which affects us geezers more than the young whippersnappers.

I have been to MANY, MANY, HS FBall games with half the crowd or less that are louder - and not just near the end of the game........

That would prove his ignorance if he believes there is a limit on being "downfield" of only 5+ yards. LMAO

Just one old guy's opinion, but I thought the crowd today was SIGNIFICANTLY louder than the Homecoming crowd, despite being smaller. Loudest both sides have gotten on 3rd down in a while. At least that was my takeaway...

From the vidcast, which showed the student side, there were remarkably few fans (apart from the 110) during the fourth quarter. For a tightly contested game, this is surprising.

I could suggest one explanation.

tunein http://tunein.com/radio/Ohio-IMG-Sports-Network-s230324/ seems to work for me. Works on either smartphones or laptops, MSFT Windows or LINUX distributions.

It wasn't me.

Furthermore, I can give Monroe a long list of reasons people are gone before the final whistle. And Monroe's dead horse probably comes in about 12th.

I consider the most serious factor in the egress of fans to be the amount of time these games are taking. We are approaching 4 hours to get a game in. The media time outs are interminable. We've sold our souls to television, though, so it's not going to change.

Bingo! As much as I like going to a game in Peden, the lack of game flow is more than I can take. It's worse than the last two minutes of an NBA game and that's bad.

And having to watch students badly dancing, badly muffing FG attempts, and slingshooting rubber chickens accompanied by an annoying announcer instead of for once getting to hear the 110 get to play a full rendition of one of the fan favorites because of the time dedicated to those antics makes it seem longer as well........

Bingo, bingo and bingo! It is so hard to watch games anymore because of tv. I know "everyone does it" but I am still not sure that it is the main factor for our resurgence. Probably a decent coaching staff with some stability and better players means more to us than tv. Especially, if we are gonna recruit OHIO much harder. I see the benefit in getting seen in FL, GA, NC, VA, etc. but we seem to be getting away from recruiting kids from that far away anyway?!?
