Seems to me PR won't help. During the ECU game last night the announcers mentioned that T'erd's schedule strength is 126. With that, the committee won't give them a second look. For a G5 school to get into the playoffs, they need to schedule snob conference teams and beat them (ala ECU), as well as going unbeaten. I'm sure that when they scheduled Akron, Fiami & Rhode Island in addition to Ohio, they were expecting to also play the likes of ECU, UCF, Houston and Tulsa. Instead, they get FIU, FAU and Old Dominion. Running up the score on their opponents will get them style points in the polls, and maybe a spot in Atlanta, but for playoff consideration the committee will look at who they beat, not how badly they beat them.
Those of us who are realistic aren't expecting any shot in the playoff. What we are hoping for is to get in an Access Bowl. If ECU drops another game, we will stand a very good chance at earning the spot, but only if we remain undefeated, even after the conference championship game.
You're right, our SOS is bad, because we filled it with teams like Ohio University. All we can do is keep winning.
I have been keeping an eye on OU, hoping you guys would pull together a winning season and become bowl eligible (as this would help our SOS). It looks like you're still having issues though.
