Just as UAB could be bowl eligible for the first time in years, the board of trustees is looking at killing UAB football. Lots of reasons, including an alleged vendetta by Bear Bryant's son and the school's attempt to be the "Vanderbilt of CUSA." Not a good situation down there. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/jon-solom...

Something that is not mentioned in that article: Troy University. They are a school on a similar level to UAB (maybe not academically), yet there are no rumblings of their football program being discontinued. You would think the Board of Trustees would care more about a school that is located in the biggest city in Alabama.

Any way to encourage this kind of discourse in Ypsilanti?
