Ranked by USA Today. You can sort the list to highest paid or by conference, which is a really good tool to show where Ohio lies.
http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/assistantA few thoughts:
-Not surprised to see Amato as the highest paid MAC assistant, but his is so large that it's tough to wonder how they can afford other coaches.
-Interesting that UMass' Tom Masella is 2nd on the list.
-Incredible how low Kent State is.
-WMU, CMU and BGSU take the cake for doing more with less. It will be interesting to see how much this changes from year to year.
-Ohio ranks near the top for total salary allotment for the entire staff, and Albin/Burrow make the same amount.
1. NIU ($915,018)
2. Akron ($910,520)
3. Ohio ($898,974)
4. Ball State ($883,900)
5. Toledo ($848,210)
6. Buffalo ($841,896)
7. UMass ($829,933)
8. EMU ($825,000)
9. CMU ($818,015)
10. BGSU ($815,000)
11. Miami ($810,000)
12. WMU ($804,500)
13. Kent State ($707,345)
-Most C-USA schools and a few Sun Belt(GSU, ULL, ASU) have higher total staff salaries than NIU.
-UAB's total staff salary is a lot higher on this list than I expected it to be.
