The only way I see it happening is if they have a coach in mind who for some reason isn't available now, but might be in two seasons. Solich can hold the fort for a couple years with Andersen/Bielema recruits, run the ball and be bridge to their top choice.
He'd essentially be a plate of cheese and crackers until dinner is ready.
Oh, I just made a cheezy Wisconsin cheese reference and I'm not going to apologize. I promise to brie more careful in the future.
Also, am I getting the sense that Barry Alvarez isn't easy to work with and might be micromanaging? There's NO REASON Bielema left for a bottom-tier SEC school. I just imagine Alvarez is in the head coach's office when the HC arrives at 5:30 a.m., a bag of pork rinds sitting on his stomach, smiling. Barry is totally going to coach the Badgers in the bowl game again, isn't he?
There's NO REASON for Andersen to leave for Oregon Freaking State. Actual live beavers would rather be in Madison than Corvalis, which to its credit had Linus Pauling. BUT LINUS PAULING IS DEAD AND HAS BEEN FOR 20 YEARS. So his presence no longer counts. Why would one leave wonderful, wonderful Madison if the job isn't quite as peachy as it's been considered.
