Classic MAC. No one knows if the tie-in exists.

I imagine the Armed Forces Bowl Executives are doing whatever they can to get out of a bowl tie in with the MAC. If you are the Armed Forces Bowl, who would you rather have? Ohio or Oklahoma State?

I have never understood why Bowls even sign backups with G5 conferences. I get the backups where bowls with the high majors ties have high major backups to be sure they get a high major 6-6 team over a 7 or 8 win mid-major. I understand the primary ties with the G5 down to a point where you know that they are bowling somewhere. But to sign a backup because you expect that there is a better chance of getting one mid-major over another that might lead to a Oklahoma State or Illinois staying home I don't understand. We don't know that is what is happening or of the AF Bowl is trying to buy its way out of the contract or what. The high-majors beat up the mids so badly this year and there were so many teams we would have guessed ending up at 5 wins pulling upsets the past three weeks that there are more high-majors eligible than anyone ever thought would happen. It wouldn't shock me if some backup contracts exist that bowls are trying to buyout.

I know that money always controls scheduling. But the rule that allows for extra practices being controlled by politics, IMO, isn't right. I think if you get eligible you should get the practices or all 128 teams should get them. I don't think that getting extra practices in for next year should be something that should be controlled by if the bowl spot that opens up happens to be 50 miles from your school so you get to play in that extra game.

When the MAC announced in October it added a secondary agreement to the Detroit bowl, it mentioned its other secondary agreements and made no mention of the Armed Forces Bowl.

Maybe if Joe hadn't given Jeremy the tickets he would've guarded Hilton better on what turned out to be the game-winning TD. I'm not a Browns fan, but you never know...
