For those who don't check out the Football recruiting thread, Connor Krizancic will transfer from Minnesota to join Ohio. Born in Mentor (where he played QB), redshirted this past season for the Gophers, at WR, wants to play QB for Bobcats.

He is apparently already enrolled, and shows up in the eDirectory. I'm glad to hear he wants to play QB. I think he can be a very good one for Ohio. Minnesota wanted him as a WR, and he was 1st team all-Ohio at QB. He shared first team all-Ohio with the guy he faced in the state championship game, Gus Ragland, now at Miami (so they shall meet again). Also, he's a teammate of another Mentor grad who was first team all-Ohio that year, and an Ohio recruit, future sack-master Kent Berger.

I expect Krizancic will have to sit out 2015 per transfer rules, but now the depth chart at QB is looking a lot healthier for 2016 and beyond.

For those that want to see him in action, here's his HUDL of his Senior year:

If he's already enrolled, do you know when he enrolled? If it was just this semester, and not in fall, could he take a full load in summer school and become eligible in the fall. Or, is a full calendar year sit out required? I've never been totally clear about how this rule works, because when I think I've got it figured out, there always seems to be an exception to the rule that I think I've finally figured out.

He was not on the eDirectory a few days ago, but is now, so I presume he just enrolled. Here's an article that Mike Coleman posted on the recruiting forum, and since not everyone reads that forum, I thought I'd post it here:

Krizancic is on campus in Athens, Ohio and has already enrolled in classes for the spring semester. He will have three seasons of eligibility for the Bobcats and coach Frank Solich after sitting out the 2015 campaign per NCAA transfer rules. He will be eligible to practice with the team until then.

If he plays some WR, I hope that'll put the pass option back into our reverses and jet sweeps. That was sorely missing last season.

"My goal is to win a couple of MAC championships here and go to a couple of big bowl games," Krizancic said. "OU's definitely an up-and-coming program right now."

Sounds like Monroe's kind of man. ;-)

Apparently his parents cancelled their cable and switched to Netflix 3 years ago.

or, maybe he's perceptive, and agrees that the quality of recruits "has improved noticeably since 2012 or so"
