I find it interesting that the highest GPA on the team goes to Quentin Poling considering recent events.

Freshmen classes are usually the easiest. At least for me they were.

He's probably taking Sophomore classes since he is a redshirt freshman. I know Q pretty well I've had a couple classes with him and I have to say that I'm shocked that this happened. He's a very nice and intelligent kid and we probably shouldn't judge him on this one mistake.

I don't care what class you're in, 3.934 is a very good GPA. As for freshmen classes being the easiest, that may or may not be true but the transition from high school to college, particularly the amount of reading that is required isn't easy at all for many folks and a real shock too.

I agree. His presence on this list shows he has done a lot of things right prior to his recent mistakes. Rules are rules, and he will have to face the consequences of what he did, but beyond those consequences, he'll have, and deserves, another chance.

GoCats might be right.

Quentin was honored for academics last year too. He was part of the large group at a basketball game that got paraded out on the court. He then joined a more exclusive group at center court. For the life of me I can't remember what the cutoff was for that group, but perhaps it was for a 4.0.

The 3.934 is just another signal the commitment isn't there.

(Maybe let's not rack up assault charges though).
