Too bad. Hope it is not what it appears.

Underage seems likely. With there allegedly being punches thrown assault or something like that seem possible.

The only reason this is concerning to me is that this event reminded me of a tweet I saw last fall involving football players. https://twitter.com/OU_Confessions/status/531200789000503296

Hopefully these issues get addressed by the coaching staff before it gets out of hand.

OU Confessions tweets aren't exactly 100% fact...

This event over the weekend is concerning on its own but I wouldn't put too much stock in the anonymous Twitter accounts.

My least favorite part of that tweet is the two responses it drew from football players. Not making things any better. I feel like staff members should be monitoring things like this.

Not to mention that one of the two players was given a second chance after assaulting another student.

That's right. I forgot that was the incident that sent AB onto his future endeavors.

D-bags hang out everywhere. These guys simply need to learn how to have a good time without getting arrested.

Sorry that's all I will say about the matter, either here or my PM. You'll just have to trust me. ;-)

I'm surprised someone hasn't spun this into a "Frank hasn't won a MAC title in 10 years and this is why" thread yet. We're 15 posts in and haven't seen a thing about it. Truthfully, I'm impressed. Everyone should pat themselves on the back.

I guess we can assume that Boykin was one of the leaders of the 2013 mutiny. If the subject of the mutiny is what has been rumored...then I should add that I arrived at a similar conclusion as just an external observer.

It always seems like winter conditioning is the time when most of these incidents occur. I presume the combination of less structure to the workouts with normal seasonal depression creates more opportunity for incidents to crop up. Now might be a good time for team leaders to call a meeting and get everyone on the same page that this type of stuff is not acceptable.

In the meantime, I presume that the policies from 2006 are still in effect, where the penalties are all spelled out. If I recall the first UAC is couple games suspension, and a second one means taking a year off from both football and the University.

The team really needs Vick, Patterson, Johnson, Powell, Purdum, Jones, Wells, McQueen, Lucas, Tautuiaki, Layton, Bass, Dixon, etc. to decide what kind of year they are going to have. Carpenter getting another year would really help. Seniors who take ownership of their team make all the difference.

No assault charges. He was charged with underage and pleaded not guilty.

I can't remember if it's a one game or two game suspension for a first offense UAC (if convicted). I know it's a year off from school if he gets a second one.

Please note he pleaded not guilty. Innocent until prove otherwise. Let the story play out.
