Does it matter whether a sport like Cross Country is subsidized by football (as above), or by fees (Ohio)? Either way, all the minor sports are heavily subsidized.
As I said above, the sports at the top of the list would be very different at Ohio, but the ones nearer to the bottom are probably not that much different, except that with all their football revenue, Nebraska may spend more lavishly even on minor sports.
In any case, transparency is possible. There is no reason Ohio couldn't release similar numbers, and those numbers would answer a lot of questions.
