Four of the first six at home, hopefully can get off to great start to gear up for the second half, and arguably tougher, part of the season. Last home game Nov. 17th isn't too bad for a good crowd you wouldn't think.

its 3 of the first 6, not 4.

I like Fiami for homecoming.

There is my Ohio University pre-calc education at work. Sheesh that's pathetic.

I think I read somewhere a while back that Schaus was trying to get Miami for Homecoming every year they played in Athens.

I know the MAC teams we are playing was released earlier but how do we keep going year after year without playing Toledo? I have only been watching Ohio ball since 2006 and we have only played them twice, last time in 2010.

I am turning forty this year and winning the MAC Championship is the only thing I want for my birthday.

The hourglass is rapidly running out on my life.

Call it 4 of the first 7.

It doesn't look too bad, but Ohio does have 2 of their six home games on Tuesdays, so look for a lower average attendance this year. They also have a short week leading up to Kent, and that usually isn't a good thing. One less day of rest does hurt.

Toledo plays 3 teams from the East every year, but of those, one is always BG. That means they play each of the other teams in the east only every third year, on average. Ohio is due to play them soon. Since it isn't this year, it will probably be next year, which will make it 3 times in 9 years.

With a 5:00 Eastern kick, I can't see how it wouldn't be on broadcast. That is assuming FBSSchedules.com is correct. And that game being on a Thursday greatly increases my inclination to go to that game and spend Labor Day weekend in Coeur d'Alene.

Every Idaho home game last season was on ESPN 3. As a SunBelt Conf member, most of their games are on ESPN3

We've had 2 midweek games every year in recent history. Not much of a shock there.

There's usually a ton of games on that first Thursday, there's 4 games from the MAC alone, very doubtful an Idaho home game would get a national broadcast.

That to me is a tough final four games--I don't figure Kent to be pre-season pick for anything but Bobcat Flash history is unkind over the last 6 or so seasons. Balls a year away from Wenig and they are probably heading back to be a tough win. BGS and NI, perhaps the top picks of their east/west.

How does OHIO continue to luck out with no Toledo? Balls series was recent and yet we get them and not the Rockets!

All four MACtion games should be on a main ESPN channel. The BG game is the only MAC game that night and Tuesday games usually wind up on either the U or the Deuce, except for maybe the last one when b-ball has started in earnest. The other 11/24 game is BG-BSU.

I think this season should be at least an 8- or 9-win season. The five toughest teams on the schedule are Minn, NIU, WMU, SELA and BG (maybe in that order). Assuming we lose one of the other games, like we usually do, winning two or three of the five gets us to 8 or 9 wins.

Right you are. Unfortunately the last home Saturday game is October 17th. Also I might have done Homecoming on the 17th. It's a guaranteed big game and with Marshall, Parents Weekend and Miami, you might have had a chance for 4 sell outs this year.

I think we still have a shot at 4.

WMU could be the favorite in the MAC this year. That could be a huge game.

Ohio has never had two home games on Tuesdays, however, and the only day worse that Tuesday for attendance is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Worse, the low attendance at Tuesday games seems to erase Ohio's home field advantage. Here is Ohio's average attendance and record at midweek home games, by day, since 2009:
Tuesday 14,124 (Ohio's record 1-3)
Wednesday 17,339 (Ohio's record 2-1)
Thursday 15,951 (Ohio's record 2-0)
Friday after Thanksgiving 13,649 (Ohio's record 2-0)

So, Ohio is 1-3 on Tuesday home games, and 6-1 on other mid-week home games. Two Tuesday home games is not a good thing.

I'm guessing the records have more to do with the opponent than the day of the week that the game is played on. Last year was NIU so that was a tough draw for sure. Weather probably has a lot to do with attendance-like last year's NIU game-that was brutal.

Last year's NIU game was the only team that Ohio has played at home on a Tuesday that came into the game with a winning record. For what it's worth, Ohio hasn't done all that well in road games on Tuesday, either.

Small sample size-just can't believe that there's anything meaningful about Tuesday's that make them any different than other days of the week if both teams have same schedule before it.
