The overly self-centered car dealer (yes, that's a redundancy) in Canal Winchester is running a commercial promoting some country music festival he's connected with. It'll be at what he calls "THE Ohio Stadium." Schmuck.
I'm also taking issue with Alex Trebek, who "corrects" Jeopardy contestants who say "Ohio State University" in responses. He obviously picked it up when Jeopardy did its college tournament at A&M a few years ago. I like Alex, so I'm not calling him a schmuck. But I wish he'd stop.
In the latter case don't you think he's making fun of the THE?
Not sure. If he had done it a few times then quit, maybe. But he does it e-v-e-r-y time without additional comment or facial expression, so it seems like he's bought into it.
