I'm surprised more schools haven't attempted to lure Chipotle into their student centers. Marshall's is not on-campus but it is directly across from the stadium.

edit: Maybe many have attempted but Chipotle is sticking to their independent model. You also don't see it in airports and the like...

San Diego State makes sense. They have their mascot on the walls at any Chipotle I have ever been to.

Is it too late to add a Chipotle to the new Academic Center?

I've had Chipotle inside an airport multiple times.

I guess I'm flying through the wrong places. I've never seen it.

Come to Philly for the crack (in the bell that is), stay for the burritos (in the airport)...

So you guys are saying I should try this place? I know there is one in town because I've seen billboards, but I've never had any particular interest. I know I've seen articles about how unhealthy it is, such as this one mentioning that a burrito there is up to 1900 calories: http://tinyurl.com/m25n5md

Forty years ago 1900 calories would have been fine, but these days a 500 calorie meal is more my speed, and I don't think a burrito is the kind of thing that would keep well if you tried to save the other 2/3 of it for two more meals.

Just about any place you eat is unhealthy - if you eat the wrong things from the menu or too much of those things. I had never eaten at a Chipotle until about 4 or 5 months ago and got one of their salads while I was in North Carolina. Unbelievable. Then I got a different one in the airport in Philly. Equally unbelievable plus they source their materials from good places. You basically pick and choose what you want and take it from there. Fresh, fresh, fresh. There is a reason their stock is trading at 609 today.

I'm a Chipotle addict. First off, never get chips (which is what the article assumes). If you get the bowl, you can stay around 600 calories if you don't get the sour cream and cheese. One thing people overlook is the amount of sodium. There's a lot, no way around that.

No. Don't ever ever ever ever eat Chipotle. You will become addicted, and before you know it half of your food budget will be set aside for burritos.

But, if you like to live dangerously, like Ted said, avoid the sour cream and cheese and it's not too bad from a calorie standpoint. Plus, everything is pretty fresh, so you could do worse for a 20 minute lunch.

Speaking of addicting food, I miss Hungry Howie's.

Agreed. The wrap alone is 300 calories. With a place like Chipotle where there is a lot of customization you have some wiggle room to make healthier choices and still keep it tasty. I could eat their chicken by itself. Throw in the corn and tomato salsas with some rice and I leave happy.

Adding to Alan's comment on the salad, I am a fan of their vinaigrette dressing.

My favorite stunt is to get a veggie bowl and take it home to make tacos with my own soft corn tortillas. Soft corn shells have about half the calories of flour tortillas. I can make three stuffed tacos and still have enough left for three more at my next meal.

Unfortunately, my next meal begins right afterward.

Fellow Chipotle addict here. I guess I'm one of the few but I'm going all out for the calories apparently. I get the steak burrito with sour cream AND guacamole! The way I see it, I'm going to die one day anyway, so what the heck. And Chipotle's guacamole is the bomb!
