UConn and UCF have a rivalry. It's called the "Civil Conflict". They have a trophy to pass back and forth with each year's results engraved. There's a digital clock that is counting down until game time. Yesterday UConn Football's twitter account sent a tweet saying its the first day back on campus and they're already counting the days until the UCF game. They are hyped up about it.
There's just one problem. Nobody told UCF.
They just found out that they were part of a rivalry with a name and a trophy and a clock yesterday when they saw the tweet. UConn created all of this on their own for an opponent they have only played twice, ever. In 2013 UCF throttled UConn 62-17 but last year UConn pulled an upset, 37-29. It was the Huskies' only win vs an FBS team last season, it was UCF's only conference loss.
Read more in the link below. And check out the picture of the trophy, although the teams have only played twice when UConn created the trophy they left off the first year when they lost. What were they thinking? Funniest thing I've read all day.
