"UMass is working on a five-year deal that will pay Harasymiak between $1.3 million and $1.4 million annually."

We're gonna have to get deep into the pockets if we're gonna keep Albin.

UMass is such a downtrodden program they have to pay over $!M.
UMass has a lot of wanna be alums that will dump a bunch of money into the program. If they win they'll keep doing it, but if not, they will stop in 3-4 years. About 20 years ago they did a similar thing with their hockey program. Lots of money dumped into the program. It took about 5 years to become a consistent winner and then finally NCAA champs. Don't expect a championship, but if they start winning look for the alums to push to join the ACC. And they would actually be a good fit if they build a bigger stadium.

Oh, you mean like use our less than zero leverage to demand Kentucky pay us $5M to show up? LOL

Then they start making business decisions and we start playing Mercer instead and have to pay them, because they're also making real business decisions.

Or worse, Gardner Webb and St Francis……oops.

With the revenue sharing for UMass football reaching 3 million per year for 2026 that likely means the overall athletic department will have a revenue share of at least 5 million if not more. This is compared to the max revenue sharing limit of 20.5 million for 2025.

My thinking has been the MAC is going to feel its way through what they'll need to offer revenue sharing wise for a few years. They don't want to necessarily spend more than what they need and the FCS conferences set a floor under the MAC. Its also situational as what to offer a player (at this point at least). Those who keep quality coaching staffs through the evolution are going to be better off until revenue sharing becomes more of an exact science.

I'm sorry but LOL. The ACC is never taking UMass.

Yeah because they already have Boston College and BC isn't going anywhere.

Jason Candle (Toledo) already makes more than $1MM, right?

If Tim Albin starts to get offers, I'm guessing we'd need to offer at least that amount over a multi-year term to retain him.

You’re exactly right. BC will never let UMass in. They blocked UConn with Syracuse help.
My point is that UMass alums think they belong in ACC.
