What’s the deal with Rickey Hunt? Kid is about as involved this season as I am.
He lost the #1 spot when Tyus played so well against Syracuse. I think Hunt had some mental lapses in the next few games after that. Two obvious ones were when he went the wrong way on some two different wide option plays. He might of spent some time in the doghouse. My guess is he lost some carries to Brune in the middle of the season and then to McCormick on senior night. It seems that he's back as the #2 back but Tyus is now a workhorse.

Good news is, he’s only a redshirt freshman. Still has 350 yards and 2 TD’s so far this year.

Perhaps the worst targeting call I’ve ever seen.

Wow.

Might be a worse call than the infamous Tettleton “safety” from the 4 yard line.

Excellent win. Navarro looked like the guy we saw at the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

Sorry, not even close to that pile of Buffalo chips.

Agreed. The targeting was BS but the phantom safety for Mack was the worst call in the history of OU football or perhaps college football. It was an officiating crew that was buying the Mack hype (which was real) and just gave it to him. A travesty.

I was reading a article on the 30 worst calls in sports history a few years ago and the safety was on it. The targeting probably won't even make SportsCenter. We'll discuss it this week. It might make the radar of other MAC fans and people that watched it. Then it might not get mentioned again. They aren't close.

To me it wasn't just that safety. That might have been the worst officiated game in the history of college football. My brother called me from Louisiana complaining about how that first half was so far possibly the worst called half he'd ever seen and, while a lot of bad calls had gone against us, more were in our favor. Then while I was talking with him we proceeded to get into FG range on the strength of two bad calls against Buffalo. If I recall, and it was over 10 years ago so I might have this wrong, then our receiver caught a ball sliding to the ground and it popped out when he hit the ground. This is somehow ruled a fumble and a Buffalo player picks it up with his knee on the ground and then starts to run and stepped out of bounds and then goes about 70 yards for a TD and they play wasn't reviewed. The safety was an error. An egregious one but could not be reviewed at the time. To me the fact that they got the reviewable
call wrong was also pretty crazy bad on top of numerous other bad calls.

You can't still find video of the safety but I wish I could go back and watch that first half and see if it was actually as bad as my memory.

Those first 20 minutes were rough, but after that it was a total mismatch and we looked good on both sides of the ball. Say what you want about the opponents, but Ohio 123-26 in the past 3 games since the Miami loss is some in-conference domination and you have to like the trajectory going into Toledo.

Navarro looked good and Coleman Owen is just an absolute gem. Looking forward to seeing what these 2 do down the stretch of their collegiate careers. I would say the O-line did not have the best game as we seemed more rushed than usual and the non-QB run game just couldn't get anything going.

Pretty decent crowd by mid-week Maction standards. I would say a good bit of students even stayed after the free tuition announcement. The fire alarm going off was a first. From what I could tell, there was something in the ceiling of the ticket booth right by the main gate smoldering. Why they had to saw a hole thru the roof to get to it, I am not sure.

Yes, there is, however he would only get at best a lateral move.

Look at Bangura's numbers at Minnesota this season:
4 carries for 12 yards (total, not one game)

Wait your turn and be the feature back next season.

5 fire trucks, three ambulances, dozens of firefighters standing around. Cop told us it was a ventilation issue -- not a real fire.

That’s kind of what he did this season. How did that turn out? I hope he stays but the fact that he’s not getting the playing time even this year with Thune getting some touches begs the question - is he number two to step up next year? Ohio is a good option for backs who are setting the bench elsewhere. A run first offense is a running backs dream.

Agreed. I love Tyus but since the injuries he does not hit the holes like a 6-1 225 molten muscle player he is........the stutter steps at the line go nowhere. Luckily, Parker N figured that out and started taking the run option for himself. Seemed to be difference maker. Ricky and Nolan should be getting more snaps.....its odd

the overall numbers from the runningbacks yesterday were surprising to say the least but it certainly seemed like emu was selling out between the tackles (or they were just much more sound than they've been all season). They forced us outside and forced us to throw. Luckily we took advantage there.

Going into this game, I had the feeling it was going to be that one inexplicable loss that Ohio football seems to have every year. Up until about the end of the 1st half, those fears were being realized. It was great to see how the second half played out with a comfortable win. I expected a heavier dose of Tyus/Hunt, but a solid win is a solid win. On to Toledo!

Ohio's coaching staff may have been, too, but you take what they give you. If they pinch down inside, the outside may be open, or the passing lanes.
