A bit off topic but wasn't sure where else to put this as I am sure some people here may have an interest. I run a podcast covering Division III basketball in the Great Lakes but wanted to do something a little different here during the slow summer season. I am starting a "Profiles in Sports" series that will sit down with folks in different sports professions. I'll cover their early years, how they gained an interest in that profession, and how they fostered it through education and work experience. Finally, I want to hash out some stories from their current careers.

My first guest will be our very own Russ Eisenstein. I'd like to have a segment with fan questions. So, if you have any questions about his career, time in Athens with the Bobcats, broadcasting style, or anything you've ever wanted to know about his background (serious, appropriate questions only). Leave them below and I will be sure to get to them when we sit down. Thanks and Ted, let me know if this needs to be moved.

I'll throw one in there:

I'd be curious to know what Russ likes the most about calling each sport he's been doing the most - Football and Basketball.

I'd be curious as to how he thinks sportscasting has changed since he graduated in 2002. I know it's changed a lot since my time, but because technology has evolved so rapidly over the past 15 years it's probably a much different animal than even when he started.

Firstly, if you could, let Russ know how much we appreciate the job he does of bringing Ohio Athletics into our homes. Especially for those of us who live across country and don't get to return to campus often he helps keep us connected to our beloved alma mater and we thank him for that.

I would be curious to know his thoughts on the upcoming ESPN upgrades- what impact does it have on his role, is he excited, nervous, etc.?

+1 on the initial thought here. I give Russ & Rob credit via twitter often. We're fortunate, as we always say, to have the quality of broadcasts that we have.

I like the question. I remember when this was a semi-controversial segment of the hoops broadcasts. I always found it to be funny, just because it made the broadcast a little more than just calling who committed fouls, and who scored the points.

It's the reason I always like Marty Brennanmen and Jeff Brantley (and of course the late Joe Nuxhall) when they include conversation about something other than just the game they're describing.

I hate to say this as Russ is just fantastic, but I'd ask him where he wants to be in 5 years. I think his talent lends itself to the national stage and I just wonder what his aspirations are along those lines.
