I would say that you nailed it. He is with the team, ergo he's not a grayshirt. That means one of two things. Either he has a scholarship already, or he elected to pay his own way this fall, and he is technically a "walkon" for now, and will get a scholarship in the Spring. I lean towards the latter as they are so close to 85 already I don't see how he has a scholarship early.

I believe that the situation is the same with Farakas - my guess is that he is a walkon this semester, and that in the Spring he will be on scholarship.
