Derrius Vick, according to multiple reports.

I hope that we start the best player.

I appreciate loyalty. But this is a competitive situation and we should not start someone based on loyalty (years in program or whatever other way loyalty is judged).

Unless there are behavior concerns (discipline, grades, etc), start the best player. Applies to every position on the field.


[To be clear, the best player may be Vick. I'm not at all saying who the best player is. I don't know who is at this point.]

I can't say I am surprised with Vick being named the starter, after all he is a senior.
This position needs to improve on it's completion % from being in the 50's LY to at least the 60's TY.

Since we weren't at Fall camp, we can't say who was best there, but based on stats from last year, it would be hard to say that the choice of Vick wasn't reasonable:

I presume that after a few games we'll all have opinions about who should be starting, but for now Vick seems like a good choice.
