Thompson is in camp with the Lions, He is listed as the second team TE, but he was injured tonight. I hope he is ok, he was on pace to make the team.

He was placed on the waive injured list, meaning if he is not claimed by another team within 24 hours. He will be placed on injured reserve. You cannot be outright cut due to injury, that is one protection the NFL has, not many, but it's one. His pay will be a % of his contract.

My question would concern his medical care for the injury. Will he receive the same care as someone they are depending on to return?
