I haven't been on Bobcat Attack for awhile. Are people using the chat function during the games ?

Yes, it seems that generally is when it gets used.

The chat seems to get angrier and more wild than the board in general. At least during (recent) football games.

Usually 15-20 regulars on chat and about 5 negative nellies and other instigators depending on whether we are winning or losing. It can be fun though and there's some interesting off topic side conversations that go on also.

Its mostly an extension of the conversations we have on here. Should be positive with a rebound 2015 season. I'm annoyed already with the ultra low fan expectations (make a bowl) when Solich has been bowl eligible 8 of 10 seasons. For a first year coach in Athens it would be acceptable but its not much of a goal for the Solich regime.

I feel like I haven't been able to contribute my completely separate non-sensical, non-sequitur sidebar hobo-entertaining-himself rambling to chat because of both time constraints and the effects of a sapid but disappointingly lucid middle age setting in. I apologize.

No offense to Frank who has done a good job, but bowl eligible today is like a participation trophy. You played and you get a bowl.

So why did this program go for 40 years without a bowl?

As it was noted in the USA Today article, a winning season this year for Frank and Co would give Frank as many winning seasons as the past 40 years in just 11 years for Frank.

This program is night and day from where it was pre-Frank.

Over exaggerate much Alan?

And UB & EMU would like to know how to acquire multiple such trophies. :)

C'mon. Is that the standard for a coach who's been here 10 years--that we aren't absolutely the worst team in college football?

Alan's right apparently...trophy for everyone!

C'mon Monroe. Ten years ago the assets were next to nothing and the return on investment was pitiful. Now after ten solid years of asset building and well above average return on investment you are the Trustee at the meeting griping about one year of flat returns. If you look total assets are still growing. Trust and patience will be rewarded. There will always be highs and lows. We shall see that the lows will be higher and the highs will be as well.

It seems like we have this discussion every year Ben. As a measure of success, I'm not a big fan of "bowl eligible" when over half of the teams in D1 get into a bowl. All you have to do is win 6 games and when you play in the weakest division of the second weakest conference in American and play a game against a 1AA school, you ought to be able to do that. OU has consistently done that but the ultimate goal in the MAC is to win the MAC and we haven't done that since 1968. Is the program a failure? Absolutely not? Is the program winning more than we did in 1979 when I came here? Absolutely. But to put the final stamp on the success of this program, a MAC championship is required.

Blame ESPN for that. They want to televise 48 or 50 bowl games. Like a lot of fans, I'd like to see "Bowl Eligible" be at 7 wins against D1 teams to mean something.

Agree with you on the MAC Championship. For me, that would mean more than winning another Potato Bowl Trophy. Not that I'm upset about that kind of trophy, it just doesn't carry as much weight as a conference title would this year for me as a fan.

Side note: We're partly fine with what bowl eligible is, but a bunch of us hate the idea of an expanded NCAA Tournament field.

It's a really good point. An extremely good point.

I know that no one here is concerned about winning a MACC and the program's focus is clearly assets and return on investments (whatever the stupid hell those terms mean in this context).

Really, why do you bother posting some times.
