Hi everyone,

Quick question... Did they send out new Ohio Bobcat membership cards?

My current card expired on June 15th, and I won't have a new one for the Bobcat Club place on Saturday, so I was wondering if I was alone in this situation.

Yep - got a snazzy and very expensive piece last week with the card in it, a window cling, and return address labels. If you don't have a card, they have a list at the gate so you can still get in.

Mine arrived today. Earlier I learned from an OBC staffer that a mistake in addressing the mailing resulted in a delay.

Mine arrived today as well. I like the new cards.

I DO NOT LIKE getting f***ing address labels. Why is there not some law prohibiting the practice of printing and sending people address labels they did not ask for?

I have not received my card yet. I actually love the address labels. I don't mail much via snail mail but when I do I always use them.

I'll take them. No better way to show your Bobcat Pride than putting an address label on your personal correspondence. We have a big argument here each year as to whether or not it is appropriate to put them on our Christmas cards. I say yes and sometimes I prevail.

Send them my way. We're in the book.

Ummm... that was a joke. They have my name and address on them, so I assume you would find little use for them.

That said, If I'm going to use an address label, I would prefer a Bobcat one in most cases unless I'm sending a sympathy card (then I would use a miami one! HA!). However, I send about three pieces of mail in a year. I don't like the idea of anyone reproducing my name and address without my say-so, even if it is my beloved alma-mater.

Mine came yesterday.

If I ever used the mail, I would use the address labels. I can count on one hand how many things I've sent via USPS the last five years. Actually, I only remember one single item I've mailed.
I'm not completely paperless with things like my OHIO season tickets coming in the mail. I would LOVE if they offered online tickets and then I could flash my phone at the entrance. Much more convenient for me. That is how I do all my boarding passes when I fly and many professional sports tickets.
I wonder what it costs to get involved with something like Flash Seats. That is Cavs' owner Dan Gilbert's company. It is extremely convenient for fans.

I understand the massive convenience of electronic information--tickets and such.

The backside of that is most of us very, very rarely send mail or personal letters....which, to me, shows that mail can be a very effective means of communication. How many personal letters do each of us receive each year-- 3 or 4?

I understand the cash and time cost of physical mail...yet it's something to hold in mind, a way to make a communication stand out.
