Chuck's first missive of the week:

* Ohio's wins over Marshall have been due to turnovers. No explication whether this is random or caused even to a small degree by Ohio's defense.
* This is a grudge match for both programs.
* Chuck gives some credit to the Ohio crowds.
* Chuck also grants that Ohio's effort and physical play have been a factor in Herd losses. No mention of talent.
* No references to "the likes of Ohio."
* Overall, less demeaning toward Ohio with even a tone of grudging respect for how a program with less talent can pull out some wins.

I kind of gathered that the reality of the fact that Ohio is 3-0 against Marshall in Athens, and 4-4 overall against them in recent years has set in, and that, along with the narrow point spread has caused it to dawn on him that there may be a reason that Ohio is winning some of these games. Therefore, rather than just repeating his usual dogma that it is "unacceptable!" to lose to Ohio, he actually asked some players how that could have ever happened.

That's disappointing. If you're going to be a heel, be a total heel.

Probably his nicest article about us ever. But I'm sure he has a scathing, excuse filled article ready to go just in case we win again.

Yeah. I think Elton Alexander is uninviting him to the annual golf outing....

I didn't read the article, as I'm trying to quit, but my guess is...
1. He asked himself a question in the first five graphs and answered it in the next.
2. He uses at least 10 sentences with three or fewer words. He mistakes pithy for pitiful.
3. His bombastic tone makes readers mad but continues to draw clicks.
4. Uses "methinks" at least once.

The Skip Bayless Open is quite an event.
