my comment on Chuck Landon's article:

Unacceptable? "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means"

I think you should be using - unavoidable. The Herd comes to Athens, Loses, as expected. After three in a row in Athens, and 4 out of the last 5 in the series, including 3 out of 4 when you had Rakeem Cato, you should be used to it.

I actually bought that rag this morning just so I could see it in print.

I browsed the herd board this morning, and the general mood was in total agreement with Landon that Marshall's play was UNACCEPTABLE. Birdsong was unacceptable. The play calling was unacceptable. The officials were unacceptable. Peden Stadium was unacceptable. Their defensive line was unacceptable. Them not being ready to play was unacceptable.

In all the posts, I did not see even one post that said Ohio played well. The closest they got was saying that Ohio was "ready to play".

One of my guilty pleasures is to browse the herd nation board after a Bobcat win. The meltdowns are always entertaining.

T'erd mentality is that Ohio can only win when (a) Marshall loses the turnover battle, (b) Marshall QB play is horrible, and (c) Marshall's coaches are horrible. Funny how that happens so frequently vs. Ohio.

It is hilarious how they continue to believe that CUSA and Marshall are head-and-shoulders above the MAC and Ohio in the face of occasionally overwhelming evidence. They've not won in Peden in a decade, but it's always because of something - anything! - other than being taken down by a better team.

CUSA currently trails the MAC in RPI, but I'm sure that's because of the referees (or something) in the combined 50 OOC games the conferences have played.

"Fans" used to allow credit to the opponent, though, that seems out of favor. Now, everyone seems to be critical playing the blame game, displaying their 20/20 hindsight.

Well, there is some sanity in Herd Nation. Trebel06 posted this on Herd Nation:

"'I'm not saying the better team lost last night.. The team with more talent may have lost but the better TEAM won last night..' We say this every single year, 'Oh we beat ourselves'.. They've won 4 out of the last 5 against us including one at our place with a team that won 10 games.. When are we going to give Ohio some credit for our poor play every single year against them? It isn't a jinx or a curse.. Solich has Doc's number and he always has a game plan that makes us look down right pathetic.. The turnovers, the penalties the inability to move the football.. Sure, that is on us to an extent, but there is another team on the other side of the field causing quite a bit of those issues as well.

"Devonte Allen destroyed Bass last year.. Bass came out last night and got in Allen's head from the first snap as a result he got 0 receptions and about 5 penalties."

I was waiting for him to say that the napkins at McHappy's were unacceptable...
