Texas fires AD Patterson 2 years into a 5 year deal.
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/13662471/tex...

(TOS didn't seem appropriate, since it's an AD job.)

(But seriously, Texas almost hired Oliver Luck from WVU last time, and we all know that if that job opens up, Schaus is going to be getting a hard look from them.)

Luck is no longer at WVU; he's Exec VP of the NCAA. But he is on Texas's list, according to ESPN: "Sources tell ESPN's Brett McMurphy that Steve Patterson's replacement are Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, former Texas coach Mack Brown, Louisville AD Tom Jurich and NCAA executive VP Oliver Luck. Jurich and Luck were both involved in Texas' last AD search to replace DeLoss Dodds. One source said the search might not begin until early 2016."

It was announced last December: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/12041034/ad-...

I don't remember seeing a whole lot about it, either. Just caught it today.

It is interesting to see these private industry types (Patterson was mainly and NBA guy I think) run into struggles at universities.

Speaking of Oliver Luck.... http://www.sportsad.ohio.edu/events/businessforum /

He is going to be on campus coming up. The Luck's are a Cleveland family, so it makes sense he would have some connections to OU.

I'm still waiting for one day when TOS leaves Bryant so we can have the nexus of the universe, TOS to Bryant post.
