Those are nice! Are they available at College Bookstore or at the stadium?

I see that the Post Staffers, after mostly picking Marshall to win last week, are picking an easy win over SLU this week. I hope they are right, but I expect more of a battle.

Go Bobcats!

I'm glad to see a lot of press this week about how our guys are focused on SLU. Beating T'erd last week was great, but that's done. SLU has talent, size and a good D. We'll need an effort similar to last week to beat them.

Their roster also reflects about 59 seniors/juniors. A group of older men who have already experienced a great deal of winning.

Parents Weekend. My experience is that athletes with family in the stands perform at a higher level. Observing my son at the only football game his grandfather, my dad, was able to attend and the track meet he dedicated to his other grandfather after he passed away. Huge personal best performances. I believe in moms and grandparents in the stands.

I think players parents are already at most games, and the only difference is parents of the general student population.

That must be true. On another point, just how much gas is used across the country by families following Junior High, High School, varsity and and JV football, volleyball, boys/girls basketball, boys/girls soccer, boys/girls soccer, tennis, wrestling, etc.? Hope the EPA never decides to regulate this.

So we all agree tomorrow is going to be a tough game?

Not only because SLU is a tough FCS opponent, but because of our QB situation. Doesn't sound like the WRs are worried. I'm not really that worried, I like Windham, and I'm interested to see what he can bring.

I checked out the depth chart in the game notes. I wasn't too surprised that it apparently hasn't changed recently, and that Cope and Carpenter are (still) not on the two deep.

I expect a battle tomorrow, but I also expect that if Ohio is focused on this game they will come out on top. I'm still calling it 24-6.

Yeah, these guys are a regular USC or Alabama. If we win in any way at all, we'll be ranked in the top 10 and the individual statues of Solich and his staff members should go up immediately.

If we have much problem in winning this, not a good sign.

Are you unaware that nationally ranked FCS teams upset good FBS teams (including P5 teams) all the time.

So far this year we have the following:

Fordham 37
Army 35

South Dakota State 41
Kansas 38

Portland State 24
Washington State 17

North Dakota 24
Wyoming 13

So if Solich uses this game to play roster players and they let SLU keep it close Monroe will be calling for coaches to be fired. No MACtion, coaches need fired. I can't wait to read about your problems with this next game.

I wish I could stifle my predilection for weather forecasting...but unfortunately the weather forecast is deteriorating fast for tomorrow. Now instead of rain coming in at night, the call is for rain throughout the afternoon. Hopefully this won't kill the walk up ticket purchases.

Most of SLU's players are transfers from FBS schools, so there won't be a lot of difference in terms of athletic ability. Most of their players are upperclassmen, so their players will be older, on average. So, where is Ohio's advantage? Since their players were all transfers, they haven't been in their system as long, and haven't been together as long. Basically Ohio's advantage, to they extent they have one, is coaching, and having all the players on the same page.

Not a USC or Alabama, but more comparable to a Northern Iowa or New Hampshire. When you play a top FCS school there is always a chance of losing, so Ohio has to play well. They did play well against E. Illinois last year, and took care of business, and I would hope they will play well today. Even then I expect it will be a battle because I see SLU as being somewhere between Idaho and Marshall.

The shame of this is, last week Ohio dominated Marshall. It was a win worthy of a week filled with good feelings for the Ohio team. A week of discussion about all the positives. However, with Monroe driving a negative narrative even Mr. Carpenter's great efforts are lost. I resolve to withdraw from the Monroe Negative Narrative (MNN). He is fully capable of responding to his own posts.

No, but let's make sure we are not Auburn and they're Jacksonville St. "Any given Saturday." Gotta play it on the field and not take the game lightly - even if they are missing their QB. End it early.

At the moment the rain is fortunately taking a NE track, so the heaviest will probably move north of Columbus. The stuff around Cincy appears to be light and weakening. Another plus -- there doesn't seem to be any lightning along the front. Let's hope it stays that way.

GO BOBCATS!!!!

A little credit to "SLU" perhaps.
