I am toying with the idea of heading up to Akron next Saturday to see the Bobcats. I actually have tickets for the Blue Jackets exhibition game that starts at 7 in Columbus and was going to try to squeeze in a double header. I have never been to a game at Akron's new stadium. Anyone else making the trip and do you think Ohio will have a nice crowd? I would love to get the OU Oh Yeah chant going. :)

At this point I'm not confident at all in this game. The Bobcats suffered a lot of injuries at Minnesota, and they are pretty banged up, especially at QB. Ohio can win, but they will have to play well, and it's certainly no gimmee.

The achilles of almost all teams like OUrs...lack of sufficient depth to get thru some games/many seasons.

There's almost never been a "nice" crowd at InfoCision in the history of the stadium. I'll be going, but I expect 500 Ohio fans, tops. Even at that, we may outnumber the home fans.

Aside from being utterly empty, it's a great stadium.

Meh, Akron put up an average number of yards against a sub-average defense. Their QB was their leading rusher, and since he was a new starter, that was probably not something Lou-La had prepped for. They did turn Lou-La over 4 times, but we've been good about holding onto the ball so far this season.

Do we need to get healthy? Absolutely. But I think I like our chances better having come up just short against Minnesota than had we pulled out the win. I think it will keep us hungry and focused.

(speaking of getting healthy, I hope this tweet doesn't mean what I'm worried it means:

the is the 2nd of 3 consecutive Homecoming games for the Bobcats, might make for a slightly better than avg crowd for the Zips.

I'm not sure that is true this year. I think the depth this year is much better, but we may find out.

OHIO always has a nice crowd there.I've been there a couple times and it always seems like we have the same or more fans than Akron.

It's a nice stadium, but always empty. I enjoy the road trips to Kent and Akron because they're easy drives, nice stadiums and a lot of OU fans make the trip. I'm skipping this game to spend 5 days playing golf in Pinehurst. I think I chose the right venue for the weekend.

Come on man, Ohio owns Akron. Cats open as a road favorite too. This one's easy money.

UpSan...really? Look at what the D did without Poling, Javon and Basham. I think most would agree the D did not play well this past weekend. Unless you consider giving up almost 500 yards playing well.

This has been OUr history the last 3-4 seasons. A decent starting 22, injuries start happening and next thing you know we are a middle of the pack MAC team. Time will tell if the same thing happens again this year.

They played well for part of the game, but not well enough down the stretch, and no doubt all the injuries were a factor in that. Let's hope those guys aren't too badly hurt.
