But now the non-conference slate is over and the real season begins.

This is a MACC caliber team. Let's go get it.

Go Bobcats.

We need to have a killer instinct to win the MAC.

I'm taking the glass half-empty view here, but today may have been a worst-case scenario.

Johnson hurt again, Basham hurt, Vick hurt. (Could we have hand-picked three more important players?) Close-but-no-cigar near-upset which will be go down simply as a loss. And a hugely emotional game right before a critical "trap game" next week at Akron. We lose next week, and we'll have to be perfect the rest of the way -- including winning at BG and at NIU.

I sure hope this team has the guts to get past this and focus on next week.

no moral victories here. We lost a game we should have won.

Let's hope they are motivated by this screw job by the Big 10 refs to go out and pound 'Kron

I for one am not going to BW3s, Target, or Best Buy from now until some time next year. If anyone asks why, these companies are based in Minnesota.

Do we know for sure these were Big Ten refs? I thought we brought in MAC officials when we are the visitors?

Losing does suck. Being jobbed by the referees demands retribution.

It was my brother-in-law's crew and they are Big 10. For some reason he was at Nebraska today and not with his crew. I will get his opinion.

How do you all see the talent level of the two teams?

Even....or were we lucky to hang with them and have a chance to win....or could you make a good argument that we had the better talent ??

I think the correct word is " we could "have won. The Gopher folks I talked to afterwards thought they should have blown us out. Should is overused. It was a close game that could have gone either way. I am disappointed, but extremely proud of the team. We lost to a pretty good team and could have won. I hope the injuries heal quickly.

I would say that Minnesota has clearly better overall talent. Ohio has some good players that slipped through, but Big Ten teams invariably land much higher ranked and more sought after players, and Minnesota is not a lower division Big Ten team.

3-1 is about the best we could realistically hope for in OOC games this year. Today's game should stick in this team's craw, not only for the one penalty that shouldn't have been but also for the four or five penalties we had on Minn's final drive. We helped give away the game as much as it was taken from us. That should provide something to motivate the team into the MAC season.

I really like this team. They fight and have athletes. It will come down to the BG game. I like our chances.

Sage wisdom. "Should" be pinned for all to see.

I hope they get over this loss quickly, and kick Akron next week. Akron really wants to beat Ohio, and I'd hate to see El Gato's forecast of a loss to Akron come true. (Of course, if that part of his forecast does come true, I have little doubt that the rest of his forecast for this week will happen as well. Keep fire extinguishers handy just in case.)

We will beat 'kron next week. Mark it. Then redhawk.

If we don't, not good. Not good at all.

To not be getter than a lousy 'kron and a really horrid redhawk--yeah, that would be some balling.

Not just talent...depth.

Thought the team made a hell of an effort. Hope tthey can get well and make a run at the conference. I love the heart I these guys.
