I don't know what the numbers look like for prior years, but so far this year, this is what I see:

Total MAC players to portal: 167
Moved to P5: 35 (21%)
Moved to a different G5: 23 (14%)
Moved to FCS: 20 (12%)
As yet no reported destination: 89 (53%)

Kicker Jacob Lewis, who entered the portal from Minnesota with a stop at Ball State prior to the Gophers, is now on the roster. So it appears to be yet another transfer addition.
I saw that. Very interesting.

He hasn't played since 2021? Has he been hurt for three years? Just went to Minnesota to experience the Big 10 life?

He's from Columbus.

Really? I thought he’d be in the rotation. Any idea why?

Unfortunate.

His Instagram still says Ohio FB, for what its worth. And he posted on his story today.

He was posting pretty often about running it back, keeping people on notice next year, etc

Preemptive portal jump?

In light of losing a lot of starters and depth, he was gonna play a major role.

He's a kickoff specialist. I'm guess he got offered a scholarship which he didn't have previously. (see quote from article)

►Junior kicker Jacob Lewis entered the transfer portal on Jan. 3. He announced his commitment to Minnesota on Jan. 31. Serving as Ball State's kickoff specialist and long field goal kicker, Lewis averaged 57.6 yards per kickoff and went 12-for-16 on field goals.

He didn't attempt any kicks at Minnesota, but at Ball State he was an impressive 7-8 from 40-49 yards and 1-1 on over 50. Oddly, he was 3-7 on under 40. He should make a nice complement to Spetic, who was 17-19 under 40 yards, but only 1-7 over 40 yards.

What's odd about Spetic is he had one of the longest legs at the Kohls Kicking Camp.

Kudos to the team for not sitting pat, and trying to figure it out.

He was coming off an Achilles injury that he suffered while at Purdue. I kind of gathered that he never fully recovered from that injury and wasn't ever 100% after that. Plus, he's had some stiff competition here at Ohio. There are/were a few guys ahead of him here. That's my best guess.

Congrats to him, and we have local based companies who can do this, they just are not companies that value supporting OHIO Athletics.

I know of several that yes have been approached, the collective is trying and a prominent Football alum and Sports Ad graduate has pitched several presentations to local companies. You think about it, no reason a Frog Ranch can't do what the bacon people in Minnesota are doing, very similar companies and stories.

With another week, four additional MAC players are showing as having gone into the portal, with no more showing new schools. With the Spring semester underway, it would seem that most of the 93 MAC players not showing a school yet will not be with a new school for spring practice. Presumably, at least a few of them will join a new school for Fall, but I suspect that for a good number of them, their college football days are over. Still others may end up enrolling at some other school and walking on. This shows the decision to voluntarily give up one's scholarship and enter the portal carries significant risk. It can result in a better position, but the result can also be a worse situation, and the player can end up without a scholarship at all.

Went to the basketball game yesterday and saw the gates at Peden were open. Poked my head in and saw a QB and WR’s getting in some reps by themselves. I wanna say it was Callum Wither throwing to Coleman Owen, Max Rodarte, Keegan Wilburn (95% sure it was him and Jacoby Jones was watching

Siemens the German multinational technology conglomerate. Its operations encompass automation and digitalization in the process and manufacturing industries, intelligent infrastructure for buildings. They have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If you meant Seaman's Cardinal Food store over on W. Union St. - with what a bag of groceries costs over there, they should be doing pretty good as well.

Why not think out of the box, and out of the county, ask Austin Powder Company over here in Vinton County. They have a slightly bigger budget than an Athens grocery store. What an explosive NIL play that would be!

Any word on Northwestern RB transfer Anthony Tyus? No mention of him today.

Does "The Insider" have any inside information?

Rodarte not mentioned either, both still listing themselves as Ohio commits on their Twitter bios FWIW. Maybe both are completing semesters at current schools?

Rodarte is on the roster, so he is apparently enrolled. He signed in December, so it was probably an oversight in the article.

Edit - Rodarte is on the list of signees, but Tyrus is not:

Probably an issue of finishing classes and making sure he's eligible to transfer without sitting.
