Bonus points if you can find OCF.

Simple, Ted. He's the very old guy with the Popeye costume.

If you look close enough outside the stadium, I think you'll see a shuttle bus bringing OCF and the future Mrs. OCF to Peden.

Check out the floats in the parade. Back in the day, the float building contest saw some awesome floats from the frats and sororities.

I was a junior in high school when this game was played, but I was at the game and watched the Homecoming parade. And, yes, the floats were much higher-quality than the ones today. Students started planning them in the spring of the year and then started working on them over the summer or as soon as school opened in the fall. It was a highly competitive sport and considered a great honor to win an award for best this-or-that float. A few years later, when I was an OHIO student, my fraternity had a number of engineering students and they used their best skills in the design and execution of the float building process. Today the floats are generally thrown together a few days before the parade and they look cheap and amateurish by comparison, but I know that instead of building floats and house decorations of quality our students of today are spending extra hours on academics in the library and science labs.

Very much enjoyed looking at what isn't in the background around the stadium. My parents were students here in the late 40's early 50's. We have 8mm footage of a Homecoming with the floats going around the track with one float throwing packs of Lucky Strike's into the student section. My dad told me the story of one of his friends at the games and she used to yell, "Let's go you little green men!"

Talk about dark days of football - 18 years between wins over Miami.

That would now cost $50,000.

Interesting to see out the South side of the stadium and not have a river, golf course or bike path out there....

It looks so different doesn't it? Part of me likes the old the Peden as a pure oval. Why didn't the university move the stadium in the 80's to another spot with more parking?
