Buffalo at CMU -7
EMU at Toledo -28
Kent State at UMass -5
WMU at Ohio no line yet
NIU -15.5 at Miami
Akron at BG -10.5

My guess is that Ohio will open up favored by 7-10. There are a couple interesting games this week. Two games feature teams with defenses but lacking in offenses against teams with offenses, but lacking in defenses. In both cases the offenses are favored (BG, UMass) over the defenses (Akron, Kent).

I'd think that based on what we have seen so far this season Ohio should be -10 or so. Given what happened last year and a lot of returners for both sides you would think they'd win. As it is I expect that Ohio will be a 7 or 8 point favorite.

Ohio opens up a 4 point favorite. That seems low, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it rise a little. I believe Ohio has beaten the spread in every game but Akron, and there they only missed by 1/2 point.

WMU has a lot of offensive playmakers. They put up a lot of points but they give up a lot too. I hope all of our defenders are healthy. I hope we have another huge crowd at Peden.

It goes to show what I know, the spread is now 3.5.

3.5, or 10, or 15, the goal is the same, a win. Go Bobcats!

It's a good question whether to root for Zippy over BG or not. While Ohio has the tiebreaker over Akron, if Akron beats BG they very well could go undefeated the rest of the way, and end up 7-1 in conference. That would mean Ohio could only afford to slip up once. A Zippy win, however, would allow Ohio to win the MAC if they lose to BG, but then BG loses to Toledo, so I'll probably pull for Akron.

I am full on rooting for Akron...I don't think they are solid enough to not have another clunker the rest of the way. BGSU is our main threat for the East.

Just an F.Y.I.: L.C., if Akron goes 7-1, that'll mean that we will have beaten a MAC team with a winning record.

Even if they go 5-3 they will have a winning record. They have about an 88% chance of being bowl eligible at this point.
