Once again its clear from today's game that Solich and Albin are making personnel decisions based on this website (or maybe just Monroe?). So lets just tell them who they need to start once and for all!

I realize that they are all great players, but if you were Solich which of these fellows would end the season with the most carries? (I left Papi off the list because he can get on the field and get touches in lots of different ways)

Paul. Yesterday, who got the most carries? Perhaps there is not a problem. However, whoever is in the game surely needs to be able to block the sack artists from these good teams coming up. Right now blocking for Vick is key. Teams will continue to load the box vs Ohio and a dinged up Vick needs to remain upright and on the mend. As Vick goes, so goes Ohio. Who gets the most snaps? Since they all can run well, the most snaps should go to he who is willing to stick the LB/DE.

I agree. Whoever is in needs to block on passing plays. Protecting the QB is the top priority going forward.

Another thing is we have a very unique situation with so many good runningbacks on our roster. I can't remember us having this many in recent memory who can also all catch well. I say we run it by committee and give the most reps to the guy who does the best week in and week out and let that be the motivation to the entire runningback core to improve. Also, doing our running game by committee will hopefully keep our running game from stalling by always having fresh legs in the game at any given time to put the power into the run. This will also then set up the pass for us. Then we can put in more option when Vick gets more healthy, but in moderation with Sprague being out.

No Papi White?

I agree, blocking for Vick is paramount, as is holding on to the ball. It's a good question and In all honesty I have no idea. All the choices are good!

When I voted very early at about 4am AJ had 0 votes, and less than 6 hours later he's up to 9 and nobody else got more than 1 additional vote in that time.

I voted for OUlette because I think we'll always get to see him some in short yardage and goal line carries. I would mostly say that the coaches know more than I about everything that is required and what everyone is good at and who needs to be in there when.

I think that when Vick is mobile enough to run White will be an excellent choice for lots of time at H-back and I think that we will see that.

This is very radical thought, and it's not acceptable to express such ideas on this board. Why do you think this board exists if it's not to give the coaches pointers on the evaluation of players, formations that should be run, and game day strategy?

I'm sorry, but you totally missed the point.

Have a nice day.

Ouellette and Patterson - most trusted with protection (and we all agree we need Vick healthy) and the ball. As Monroe pointed out - he never gets tackled for a loss and never losses the ball.

That said, no one gets more that 15 a game. Challenge will be getting them in a rhythm.

I don't know if we should compare the backs. If I had to, I would assume that if we threw out history and all of these guys came to camp, Irons would win out. This is probably the story of AJ's life, he is not the biggest or fastest, but he is very reliable and productive. I don't believe we should hide Irons talent to preserve others playing time. Knowing our coaches, Patterson and AJ will get the lion share of carries. In my opinion, they should not hesitate to insert Brown, White or Irons when they are not getting it done. If Irons continues to grow let him eventually get the lion share of carries.
