I'm just going to say it. This sucks. Whoever is making these TV decisions in Athens clearly just does not care about fans in Columbus. Thanks to making the genius decision to put the game on TWC sports, which is only available in a premium sports package on TWC that nobody I know is willing to pay for (present company probably excluded), the game is blacked out for DTV subscribers both on ESPN3, and on College Extra. Which means it's also blacked out for every bar in Columbus with DTV. So, good job, guys. You want everyone in Columbus, recruits, alumni, potential students, watching something other than your sold-out homecoming game against your arch rival on a gorgeous day in Athens? You got your wish. I hope you got paid, cause you didn't get any more eyeballs on our team.

And before anyone says it, I go to games. I support this team and my school through thick and thin. I have for almost 20 years. I could not go this week, and was really looking forward to this. My non OU friends think I'm nuts. I always tell them that they don't understand, that OU needs me. Apparently not.

Blacked out is SE Ohio as well. I am guessing it's because Time Warner Sports picked the game up.

Blacked out if you don't have TWC. I frantically drove over to my in-laws to watch the game.

I thought the ESPN deal effectively made the TWCSN abortion dead? So much for that...

I wound up using firstrowsports (yes, their pirates, but it's only hurting Disney, so screw 'em). We should have only one more game where this might be an issue (Buffalo).

You can call TWC about this and they'll be able to have a representative answer you between 9-4 the next day.

No one in Athens made a decision to blackout the game. Game was on TWCSN. Spend some more on your cable bill. It's not even a premium channel. Actually it's part of the Standard TV package with Time Warner.

I was a bit blindsided by this. I am not a TWC subscriber, but I planned to watch the game on WatchESPN. Better communication from the athletic department or the MAC would have been appreciated.

Subscribing to a VPN will get you around location based blackouts on ESPN3/WatchESPN.

Plus, a VPN helps keep your data safe. So when you a few $ a month consider that a cyber security charge and not a football charge.

I saw those, but they did't specify that the game would be blacked out on ESPN3/WatchESPN if I was not a TWC subscriber.
