Overthrew Reid in the end zone. Several other errant throws.

After watching a half of BG's Johnson, was Big Ben any better?

Several other errant throws? Huh? He was 11-14 and ran for 50+ yards.

He did make some nice plays, but S. Smith saved his ass on a couple as well. Overthrows on the deep ball and the sideline pattern on that last drive were costly. We have to have those throws in a game like this.

I've convinced myself we're still in this. But we need 7 on the first drive and a defensive stop immediately.

but instead, we almost throw a pick, then run for no gain, get a holding call and our QB is carried off the field.

Ever just think it's not your century?

Sebastian Smith made some unreal catches. Vick was really inaccurate. Solich is the anti-Urban. Ohio does not stockpile top QBs.

Watch out...some on here think JD Sprague is the answer and some think Greg Windham is a stud. Mark it down: Conner Krizancic will be our starter next year and we will be better. Why else would a Division I, Big 10 wideout transfer to a MAC school to be a QB? He must know something.

+1

No way we can go into next season with Windham or Sprague as QB. NO. WAY.

This program is in a full-on nosedive.

Something big has to change

Vick is clearly the best of what we have though.

Smith saved him a sure pick with that diving catch.

Vick is not a bad quarterback, he is an average quarterback. He has reached his potential, it is the coaches, they are terrible at recruiting quarterbacks. There are 5-10 D1AA qb's that could start on our team.

OHIO has some nice big receivers--If BG's Johnson was OHIO's QB yesterday and BG had one of OUr's, would one MAN make a difference?

Right on....IMHO there is only 1 real difference between us and an upper tier MAC program, they all have better QB's. After these guys graduate the team falters, fact.
We need to really go after a big time QB. Sell these players on the fact that it really doesn't matter where you play because if your great the world will know, AKA Big Ben. They could start as a freshman and play 4 years and be in the record books, and be "THE MAN" & THE FACE OF THE PROGRAM.

Yes. Dominant is the only word for it. OK, maybe unstoppable.

With todays open offenses you MUST have a QB who can play. So, as I have been saying, GO GET A JC QB THAT CAN PLAY IMMEDIATELY. Or, we continue to be in deep do do...

A better QB would help. But it alone is hardly the problem. We lack players on the lines and other places.

I just want players who are winners.

Doesn't matter if they have 5 stars or are walk-ons.

Score more points than the opponent. Stop the opponent from scoring.

Go to class and behave.

I won't even fathom attacking any of our current guys from a character standpoint but from an on-field performance we have no swagger. If we are as bored and tired of watching this cess pool on offense and defense how do you think the players like it?

Wouldn't shock me in the least if any of our players were watching BG play last night and got a little jealous of what they do on offense.

Our best QB prospect right now going into next year is a walk on and not a good one at that. I don't blame the high school prospects though. If I was a stud QB coming to play in this offense wouldn't excite me either.

Definitely. When you lose 62-24, it's not just because your quarterback isn't as good as the other team's. It's just one of many factors.

I agree that a QB is needed. Frankly, multiple QBs are needed for the future. Use the Urban Meyer example of barely missing a beat last year with new guys stepping into the position. You gotta have real, capable options at QB, and I think Ohio really only has one, and he will be graduating in 6 months.

But, I also agree that when you give up 62 points, it's not all on the QB.

Some things need to change, or they're essentially continually running into a wall the same as they have been for a couple years, and losing the battle to the wall.

Country, don't you remember? The problem isn't that we don't have enough hammers, or drills, or dynamite, or bulldozers, to break through that wall. The problem is that we just aren't executing well enough when we repeatedly bash our skulls against it.
