.... Probably the best MAC win in Frank's tenure.
Repeating this does not make it true. It'll be a very good win, but it will not be the best MAC win of his tenure as previously explained.
Ok....so you're saying wins over a Temple program that has zero MAC titles is better than beating MAC powerhouse and the most dominant team in the league the past decade...
A team that has won 35 of 36 at home and has won 22 straight games in November.
There were three Temple wins of note, all in mid to late November:
2009 35-17 in Athens, Temple season record 9-4, 7-1
2010 31-23 in Philly, Temple season record 8-4, 5-3
2011: 35-31 in Athens, Temple season record 9-4, 5-3
This is your "previous explanation." You really think those are more impressive than beating a team ON THE ROAD that is on the verge of playing for a MACC for a 6th straight season.
I'm sorry....those wins over Temple from 09-11 were nice...really nice. But I don't think they are as impressive as beating NIU on the road in November when they are playing for a west division title.
The '09 win (Ohio was 2-point underdogs) was the best of that bunch because it was basically the East Division title game...but it was at home and we were pretty damn good that year. Not to mention Temple was without Bernard Pierce that game (1300+ yds, 16 TDs that year)
The '10 win (Ohio was 10-point underdogs) was really good....on the road to put us in position to win the East. But, oops. We gagged the next week at Kent and blew a chance to win the East division.
The '11 win (Ohio was 4-point underdogs) was a really nice win too. But it was at home and Ohio was pretty damn good that year too....10 wins good.
The '15 version of Ohio is not anywhere near as good as any of those three teams....all of which would've won East division titles had it not been for a turkey week gag at Kent.
The '15 team....at 7-4....with all the injuries....as 13.5 pt underdogs....to go on the road and beat NIU. I'm sorry. To me, that would be far more impressive.
The '09 Temple win is probably the biggest MAC win in Frank's tenure to this point....but I think a win tonight is better.
The '09-11 run we had should be the norm for Ohio. Either winning the MAC East or in the hunt until the very end. If we were still getting those kind of results today, I'm sure people would be much more happy with the state of our program.
But since 2012, we've not been anywhere near the hunt in November for a East title. That's regression. 6-8 in November since 2012. NIU is 22-0 in November since 2009. Big difference.
But go ahead and tell me that "repeating it doesn't make it true".....because your opinion is "true"?
You have your thoughts...I have mine.
I think we respectfully disagree....as previously explained.
