Entire Marshall Team entering portal. So much for the narrative someone tried to explain to me about Marshall.

Including Pennington’s son.

They've lost 3 of their 5 qbs. Chad Pennington’s son just announced today.

At some point, do they need to turn down this bowl game? No joy in this, just a question. These days, it could happen almost anywhere.

Reports are, they will all enter. From players I know and parents I know, coach was told he wouldn’t be back.

It would be very interesting Mike to know if and what the ramifications would be for backing out. Because these games are contracted.

Worst case scenario, do they Send an Athletics Department staffer down to the frat houses asking who played high school ball? Pull a kicker and a punter from the men’s/women’s soccer team?

You have been had, it is a fake/comedy post.

As of tonight, 14 players have entered the portal. I am surprised Pennington's son didn't transfer earlier since he isn't a D1 player. Chad said his youngest son is the best QB prospect of his children and he has accepted an a non scholarship football offer program at Dayton.

It's fun to dream, though.

Marshall/Huntington has to be one of the most negative environments for coaches, no matter how successful.

I'm told this is what Athens will look like if our interim isn't given the gig...

You will not get an argument from me about that. Huff did himself no favors with a few of his comments about Huntington and the fan base. The comment about Huntington was not that bad, just a really poor choice of words. This was Huff's first situation where he was in the spotlight and I bet he has learned some important lessons. Some of the Marshall "fans" are really sensitive. His wife supposedly was very vocal about her dislike of being in an Appalachian area and everyone heard that rumor.

For all his inexperience, Huff was very good at the portal with a non P5 NIL budget. That is something the Bobcats should be looking for in a new coach. Huff got Mike Green from UVA and he turned into the SBC player of the year and he is declaring for the NFL draft; a probable first round pick. Notre Dame and Miami FL raided the Marshall program for several players.

With all the changes in college football; NIL and the portal I am losing interest in college sports. I had five frat brothers on the Marshall plane crash so I do follow The Herd, but I am not passionate about it as when I was younger.

Go luck on new hire, it is always a crap shot. You had an impressive season this year!
