I do not understand this hire by Virginia Tech. Fuente is one of the younger coaches in college football is Bud Foster's new boss. I'd think it make more sense to go with Rich Rodriguez a name VT fans are familiar with. With a conference championship on the line Memphis lost to Navy, Houston and Temple in back 2 back weeks.

Memphis I would think would want to continue to build with a quality coach and not settle for an internal hire. Dino Babers would be a good fit at Memphis. He's coached at EIU and BG two other flat places. He is 54 which I believe dampens interest. Skip Holtz is at Louisiana Tech and has coached ECU and USF before so he understands the AAC. He's 51 and might stay at Memphis until he retires.
