The B12 has a new directive -- you must schedule at least one "P"5 OOC team: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-f...

It says it doesn't affect current contracts and has no hard deadline. But it might affect our Kansas games if push comes to shove. Kansas has no "P"5 OOC games in '16 or '17 (they do have Rutgers in '18). Next year's OOC for them is Rhode Island and Ohio at home, and at Memphis. In '17 they have SE MO and CMU at home, plus their visit to Peden. Logic would dictate replacing the 1AA games with a "P"5, but any possible changes would depend on any open dates the schools might have. Anyhow, it'll be tougher to schedule B12 schools going forward.

Hope we've got a hefty cancellation penalty written into the "home & away" contract with them.

Don't everyone go calling Indiana all at once.

According to the article I read Big 12 games that are not already under contract with FCS (1-AA) opponents are forbidden by the conference going forward.
Baylor mentioned as the team that schedules cupcakes. Mentioned Buffalo as an example.

Will G5 be next?

This is the same stuff the B1G announced earlier this year. Eventually they said Army, Navy, Cincinnati and I think UConn could also be included as their P5 opponent. Army's phone hasn't stopped ringing since.

I think the lack of a championship game is ultimately what hurts the Big 12. But if you think booking Oregon State is what will help you get into the playoffs...
