I think we are seeing how competitive and how close MAC teams are "bunched". I don't see Northern winning due to their injury issues, but the remaining teams will represent the league very well in the next few days.

Already two more wins than I thought!

Good job MAC, keep it up.

One could argue that the toughest opponent the MAC has faced or will face in a bowl is Appalachian State. Temple was highly ranked at one point with a narrow loss to Notre Dame, but they've lost 4 of their last 7 games. Boise State has had an uncharacteristic year with 4 losses and a slew of injuries.

Guessing the Temple "Film Guy" won't suddenly start sniffing around again since he doesn't have a reason to brag.

Film guy was OK, and an honest chap, I think. Mr. Boa is the one I don't want to see any in these parts.

There may be more people on the sidelines at the Poinsettia Bowl than fans in the seats.

I agree that the other teams in bowl games will represent the MAC well. It may be that most of the MAC teams will win their bowl games with exception of Ohio and maybe one other team. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Uh well never mind; Boise State does appear to be very good.

NIU looked like a HIGH SCHOOL team out there tonight. A 100% complete embarrassment for them and the MAC. Lost 55-7 and had just THIRTY THREE(33) total yards(38 pass -5 rushing). WOW

A tale of 2 different days. MAC 2-0 yesterday; today well on its way to 0-2 and currently being out scored 106-31. Yikes. BG has the offensive firepower to mount a comeback, so we will see.

No doubt. Bummer to see 2 of our best 3 teams get absolutely thumped by teams that seemingly shouldn't be that much(if any) stronger. Of course BG is down a coach...

Yep, I was just thinking that the two teams that played for the MACC have gotten hammered today. Doesn't say much for the conference. Could sort of see it coming with NIU because of their QB situation, but BG is a total surprise. Expected a high-scoring game, but BG's offense has been completely absent in the 2nd half.

Yep, pretty bad look for the conference today.

Hope Alan's next post on the TV numbers aren't too high for tonight ;-)

But how interesting/cool is it that two teams in their first bowls ever get wins right off the bat. Unfortunately at our expense.. But they don't know how good they have it!!

The margin of victory of 48 points was 5th highest all time. This is the type of loss that can cast a shadow over next season for NIU.

Does anyone else think that BG would have matched up better against Boise and NIU better against Georgia Southern?

Very disappointing showing for the MAC today. NIU I expected, but BG, unbelievable mistakes and miscues. It would have been much easier if BG would have handed the ball off to Ga Southern. Oh, wait a minute...they did!

Definitely substantiates our beat of NIU as totally solid. Surely that's the conclusion to be taken here.

The matchups may have been better but I still think it's two losses. Georgia Southern was ultra motivated to win their first bowl game and packed the house in Mobile. Boise was just out to prove this season was somewhat of a fluke with four losses. The losses may have been closer.

It was only a month ago a couple green glassed fans claimed the Northern Illinois win was our biggest MAC win ever, how silly. We beat their 5th string walk on freshman QB after their 3rd string QB went down.
