5 minutes left in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and Akron has a 23-14 lead and the ball. The Zips are on the verge of winning their 1st bowl game. While I am rooting for the MAC teams, for some reason I find myself being jealous of the Zips and wishing EVEN MORE that Ohio had beaten App. State.
On a side note, there is literally no one at the game.

Okay to hear that. They have officially turned the program around and can't be considered an automatic win anymore. Overall good for the MAC. Glad we beat them this year, hope it continues.

Should be in Athens, Alan, unless the MAC front office gets paid off with Zipper Factory money. ;-)

I absolutely hate the thought of Akron competing with Ohio in football but let's give credit where credit is due. They went out got Bowden, who found a way to build a team from nothing, who then went out and won a national TV/bowl game. USU is not USC but the Zips took advantage of the opportunity they were given unlike some other MAC schools.

Good for the zips, good for the MAC. That means we beat at least one bowl winning team this season, on the road :)

With all due respect this Akron bowl win by 2 points was over a 6-6 team. Ohio lost by 2 points to a 10-2 team. Bowden has earned his pouch in Akron but he hasn't made a dent in the MAC recruiting wars. Toledo gained far more from dominating Temple that night. Temple was a team one victory away from a Peach Bowl and Toledo proved on the field to be not far removed from that conversation.
