I agree CB66, the place is a dump. Without leveling and starting over, the only 2 places left to expand/improve Peden are the east (student) and south (Victory Hill). Personally, I would level the east side and build all new with 2 levels/upper and lower. You could also do a lot with Victory Hill. In the end it will still look like an architectural nitemare.
The university master plan for the future of campus was released. Included is an Academic Center for Peden and Welcome Center for Convo both major additions facilities and aesthetic perspective. The next step before for pushing Peden capacity upward is pushing ticket prices up. This year I was able to sell four games from my family pack which I bought for $180 for $250 at heavily discounted prices. That wouldn't be possible if they hadn't pushed ticket prices up to the point where the secondary market is attractive. Virginia Tech pricing is a good bar as to the upper limit for what Ohio could be charging. Last season they charged $45 dollars for FCS game and $60 for ACC games. Ohio might be able get away with $60 for homecoming, $50 for other Saturday games and $35 for midweek games. Increase season tickets by only 20% and force more fans into season tickets. In Peden they set aside 2500 tickets for visitors and 5500 tickets for students, out of 22,000 physical seats. A season ticket sellout then is 14,000. Before expanding Peden a season ticket sellout at elevated prices has to happen first before serious talk of adding seats to the stadium. At the pace the program is going under Schaus its 5 years away.

Interesting thought Wes. At least in basketball, it appears that we are going the other way with prices. This year there is a new promotion for Tuesday nights - two for one pricing (works out to $7.50 a ticket). I sit in section 3 in the platinum seats and in section 4 their are a ton of new faces this years. The old faces have moved up to the gold or silver sections or to the family packs where they can just trickle down into all of the vacant seats. The price for 4 platinum seats is now $1720 which pushed those folks out. I'm afraid the prices that you're quoting will do the same for football especially with the lack of quality opponents in the Convo and Peden. 2016, deja vu all over again.

I might be able to see $60 for homecoming, because it's homecoming. But you can't get too crazy with these prices. Ohio just isn't at that level yet.

Oh no this ruined my week!

But hey ND is at the top.

If you need upgraded concessions why don't you spring for a couple of seats in the Tower Club.

Peden needs a facelift. The academic center in the north end zone will make those horrible end zone corners look a little less out of place. The student side of the stadium needs to be demolished or a major facelift with additional seating added much like the Tower club was added or a 2nd deck. I'm guessing the added deck would be to costly. Next put in a large scoreboard but place it MUCH tighter to the actual field. In doing so your going to lose a big chunk of the hill which is why additional seats would need to be added to the top of the student side. As for the concession on the student side, get them out from under the stadium and create a plaza on the back side of the stadium. University of Maryland has the plaza and it's great.

Higher seating and both ends of the stadium closed in with a scoreboard and academic center would go a long way to tightening the setting up and holding more crowd noise.

If I win the Power Ball book it! It will be done!

Hmm...sounds like they are judging this from a Tuesday night MACtion game, which is not a true representation of the stadium experience. There's no way BGSU's stadium beats Peden.

Oh well, no one really should take these lists seriously.

Went to the BG game this year and posted about it. It is way nicer - has all of things poster complain about on this site starting with restrooms and concessions. That said, I like the atmosphere in Peden on a fall Saturday afternoon much better than BG.

A clickbait list should not generate so much hand wringing. Even if we were #1 on this list, it wouldn't change the fact that we're a money-losing G5 program that has no chance to move into a power conference. As others have pointed out, Peden is functional. Investing a lot in it is not a good use of funds. Even if I agree that it's a total dump (I don't), it would still be a dump we use six or eight times a year. It legitimately sells out once a year.

How can anyone justify spending more when the program already has to be subsidized? Anything spent on Peden only exacerbates that. Akron proved that people stay home if the team and games are bad. Perfect urinals are not really a selling point, and with the exception of Bobcat Love, no one stays home due to a bad pretzel. Maybe a shiny stadium has a minor impact on recruiting, but I think most of us recognize that kids choose schools based on coaches and opportunity to excel more than a stadium. They don't have to eat the pretzels after all.

College athletics is changing fast. No one knows what it will look like in a few years - let alone more - and the thing most likely to change dramatically is football. The G5 may end up relegated farther down the food chain. Paying players may make football financially untenable for G5 members like us. Football itself may change or disappear in the long-term as evidence mounts about brain injuries.

To me it adds up to a horrible choice for major upgrades.

Have you ever bought a new car to replace the first car you ever had? If so, why? It was designed as a car and functions as one. It is nostalgic and you probably have a lot of fun memories in it. And, why spend a ton of money on something that is only going to wear out over a long time? How can anyone justify wasting money on a new car?

Just finished going through my son's "old" 2003 Monte Carlo; tires, struts, brakes, rear main, fuel filter, cabin filter, water pump, alternator, plugs/wires, transmission flush, etc. We gifted it to a college student he knows who is working two jobs while studying. She was "thrilled" to get it. Hidden message therein.

We just replaced the "old" Monte with a cream puff 1999 Mustang, 50K miles, purchased from original owners, couple in their eighties. They were very concerned that their Mustang would go to someone who would appreciate it.

I drive my car more than 5 or 6 times a year.

49, your post was perfect! I couldn't agree more. College football was meant to be played on Saturday afternoon and when you deviate from that. as someone mentioned, it doesn't work. Tuesday night games in the cold are dreary.

Am I crazy or couldn't you fix about 40 percent of what ails Peden aesthetically by buying a good quality wrap to put around the base and concrete top of the 1986-addition bleachers along with better quality wraps for the front of the student side?

That's a good idea. Wraps that are taller for the corner and student side to make the stadium look bigger. New lighting fit into the wraps and a video board. Wraps all up to the same height on the stadium with ribbon boards and advertising below. Take Baylor's new stadium as a starting point.
