For me this article effectively captures both the negative and positive side of the debate over football as we know it. It's the culture, driven by the NFL, and not necessarily the game that has to change. It's too bad that it takes tragedy to bring about real change.

Take the time to read the whole thing. Very well written. This passage really got to me:
"Now my son got basically decleated; he was laid out. And while listening to the audio and watching the video, I could hear some men in the press box saying, 'Did you see that hit?' Or, 'Wow, what a hit.' I was told their sideline erupted in joy. ... And then I say to myself, 'This is what it's become because this is what they've been programmed to see and think is part of the game.'
As this father so eloquently states, football isn't going away but it needs to change.

This father is the kind of person it takes to make this effort get the proper attention. He's a football guy. He played. His sons play(ed). He's not suing. He's not looking for money. Above all, he's not perceived as anti-football.
