Hopefully, we will soon be able to have more effective treatments against all types of cancer. There is some amazing research being done in this area right now and we are on cusp, I believe, of some real breakthroughs.
(Not trying to detract from the portions of your post that I didn't quote). This is true. Amazing things happening at the moment when immunotherapy [e.g. Nivolumab, pembroluzimab, ipilumimab, (sorry, hard enough for me to spell the generic names, you're not getting the branded names)] is used alone or in combination with chemotherapy, "targeted therapy", or radio therapy. And that's just in solid tumors, not even getting into the remarkable effects that CAR T cells have had in some hematological malignancies*. I'll stop talking shop/science on a sports message board, but will happily continue to nerd out with anyone via PM.
*i am currently involved in research funded by the federal government and/or private entities regarding these agents. I don't personally benefit from or get any cash as a result of these studies, but I felt like disclosing all the same.
